Therapy in Perrysburg Helping You Navigate Life Changes, Career Transitions, and Major Life Events

Life is full of transitions. Sometimes they’re expected, like graduating, starting a new job, or moving to a new city. Other times they hit hard and fast, like a divorce, job loss, or the death of a loved one. For many, these changes bring stress, uncertainty, and self-doubt. As a counselor, I focus on helping people navigate these transitions and use them as opportunities for growth, clarity, and realignment with what matters most.

At 5th Corner Counseling, my work is centered around change. Whether you’re going through a divorce, exploring a new career path, or adjusting to a new chapter in life, I provide practical guidance and evidence-based tools to help you not just survive change but thrive through it. My goal is to help clients move from feeling stuck or overwhelmed to feeling empowered and purposeful in their next steps.

The methods I use are grounded in approaches that create measurable results. Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) helps clients identify what’s working, amplify strengths, and focus on concrete steps to move forward. It’s about creating solutions rather than dwelling on problems, so you leave sessions with actionable strategies you can put into practice immediately. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) addresses unhelpful thought patterns that can make change feel impossible. By learning to challenge and reframe negative thinking, clients build mental flexibility and resilience during periods of uncertainty. Life Design is another approach I use to help clients explore their values, strengths, and interests so they can design a life that is both fulfilling and intentional. It’s especially useful for career transitions, starting new projects, or exploring new directions after a major life change.

I’ve also had the privilege of working with people who are starting exciting projects, both personally and professionally. My book, UNFINISHED: A Guide to Dream, Complete, and Repeat Your Life’s Work, grew out of my own experiences of balancing creative work, family, and career. I bring that same perspective to clients helping them structure goals, break projects into manageable steps, and maintain momentum even when life feels chaotic.

Before opening 5th Corner Counseling, I spent years in the marketing world working for a mid-level agency, overseeing hiring and talent development. This experience taught me a lot about positioning yourself for success and making meaningful changes in your professional life. I combine that knowledge with counseling strategies so clients can not only adjust emotionally to transitions but also create practical pathways to thrive, whether that’s landing a new role, launching a business, or redefining what success means to them.

Change can feel destabilizing, but it doesn’t have to be a source of fear. It can be the catalyst that launches you into your next chapter with more clarity, confidence, and purpose. At 5th Corner Counseling, I help people turn uncertainty into opportunity and guide them toward outcomes that align with their values, goals, and potential.
